Balinese day
Bali provincial government considers to develop 'Balinese day' or a day speaking Bali in an effort preserve the Balinese language. Given the number of speakers or the Balinese language users gradually decreasing each year.
Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika on (8 / 12) in his office stated that although the Balinese language education has been included in educational curriculum in schools, but less and less people are fluent speak in Balinese.
Not to mention the tourism development of Bali's tourism industry, Bahasa Bali rarely use on daily social activity.
"National and international connectivity scale requires us to master the Indonesian language and foreign is better, but we original language in Bali must remain developed" said former police chief of Bali.
Mangku Pastika expected roles of teachers and community leaders to keep Bali and preserve and teach the language of Bali to the younger generation.
Moreover Bahasa Bali is one of the cultural assets which must also be a magnet for tourists to visit Bali.
