Indonesia to tighten aviation security precautions

The Department of Air Transportation takes a closer look all Indonesian airports are not only passengers, but flight crews and cargo loading in response to the threat of terrorism.

Quoted in bisnis.com, said the Minister of Transport, Jusman Syafii Djamal, "A closer look will be made not only of passengers but the crew and cargo. With closer supervision of cargo areas."

The added emphasis on security has been known to have been found by Indonesian police that a former mechanic of Garuda Indonesia, Muhammad Syahrir, employed belonging to terrorist Noordin M. Top, and had allegedly been involved in the July bombing of two hotels in Jakarta.

Syahrir is no longer used by Garuda Indonesia.

In response to Jusman dramatically increased security measures at all airports with the support of the Indonesian Armed Forces and National Police.

Earlier, the Head of the National Police Headquarters, General Nanan Sukarna said that the police are looking for four members of a terrorist network, including Muhammad and Syahrir Syaifuddin Zuhri, two brothers from the authorities probably taken a role in the bombing of two hotels in Jakarta have July 2009.

Muhammad Syahrir graduate of the Aviation School in Jakarta in 1988, operates on the completion of Garuda Indonesia and a foreign airline.
