Bali tourism arrivals to remain alive

Data provided by the Center for Information and Public Relations at the Department of Culture and Tourism shows that average daily arrivals of foreign tourists in Bali in the period from July 1-16, 2009, shortly before the bombing of Jakarta, in 7283 amounted to visitors. In the aftermath of the bombing, 17-27 July 2009, the average number of foreign arrivals in Bali rose to 7.938.

A report on the evaluation of foreign arrivals via Bali's Ngurah Rai Airport by the Center for the Management of Networks (P2DSJ) of the Department of Culture and Tourism says that for the first 26 days of July a total of 195,908 foreign tourists came to Bali, a average 7535 people per day. Compared to the previous month June with an average of 6,661 foreign tourists came to Bali every day.

A month-on-month compared with July 2008 and July 2009, shows a 23.3% increase in foreign arrivals - 6111 arrivals per day in July 2008 compared to 7535 on the day of arrival in July 2009. Hotels in Bali on 17-27 July 2009, the period immediately after the terrorist attacks in Jakarta, occupanies average of 73.44%.
