Bali finding special status
The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) joined the Governor of Bali, Made Mangku Pastika, the call for the province of Bali to be declared a Special Autonomous Region (Daerah Khusus Indonesia) or a particular province (Daerah Istimewa ).
This status, which supports special rights and privileges of a provincial legislature or a municipal government, is currently assessed by the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, in Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam, in Papua, Papua and West of the city of Yogyakarta.
The deputy chairman of the committee of DPR II, Sayuti Asythri, told the press during a visit to Bali that changing the status to Bali should be considered as something normal.
