The plague of the HIV/AIDS in Bali

Bali has now the hateful distinction to have the second highest rate of infections of HIV/AID in Indonesia. Based on the number of cases of AIDS among each 100.000 residents, New Guinea is worst affected (129.35), Bali in the second place (33.75) and Jakarta third (30.52).

According to DenPost, so considering simply from all the number of brought back cases, Bali obtains lined up fifth spread by all the country after, in the decreasing order, Java Western, Jakarta, East Java and New Guinea.

These figures were indicated to a signing ceremony for a draft-agreement (memorandum of agreement) held in Bali on May 27, 2009, between the government of Bali and the total funds to fight the AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

The data presented by the Commission to fight the HIV/AIDS in Bali recorded 2.666 cases of the disease in Bali by the end of February 2009. The majority of case (62.98%) were recorded among heterosexuals having the sex not protected with the infected associates, the principal source of the infections in Bali.

According to Bisnis Bali, of the 2.666 cases recorded in Bali 1.264 are recorded like victims of AIDS, of which 247 died. While waiting, the cases of HIV are assembled to 1.402 whose 2 people died.

The President of the National Commission the antione, Nafsiah Mboi, said that the efforts to prevent the disease in Bali are completely good. At the same time, she admitted that it is difficult to change models of behavior among the commercial workmen of sex or their customers who persist by having not protected sexual relations, in spite of vast efforts informed the public with the implied risks.
